Furthering your fiction writing

- Working with a model story.
- Discussing components of story: characterisation, setting, structure, openings, endings, climax and techniques.
- Choosing/planning story based on own experience.
- Writing in supported ‘chunks’ allowing time for improvements and  proof reading.

 

Prose Comprehension

- Recognising and revising parts of speech.
- Comprehension skills.
- Reading the text/question types.
- Quoting.
- Highlighting key words in question.
- Planning answers & mark scheme - Practicing comprehension.

- The Writing Paper.
- Implementing comprehension skills.
- The Comprehension Paper.

 

Every session opens with personal feedback (strengths and targets) from the previous lesson.
