Programme


October/November half term: Scholarship/C.E:

Introduction to poetry and prose analysis
:

  • This course will provide your child with the understanding and skills to access and analyse poetry and prose.
  • 6 hours teaching over  3 days
  • A maximum group size of 8
  • Teacher/pupil ratio 1:4
  • Using ideas to plan and write detailed responses
  • Written and verbal feedback ( one to one)

February half term: preparation for scholarship:

  • Benefit of group discussion in morning sessions
  • Benefit of school specific/one-to-one tuition in afternoon

Morning:

  • 7 – 8 hours group teaching over 4 – 5 days
  • Maximum group size of 4
  • Teacher/pupil ratio 1:2
  • Timed exercise practice
  • Skills taught necessary to tackle 13+scholarship papers: your child will be helped to unpick, plan and write scholarship questions
  • Wide knowledge of schools’ requirements and expectations

Afternoon:

  • School specific one-to-one sessions available for group members: up to 3 x I hour sessions
